We’ve been supporting the Early Years Scouting pilot called Squirrels, formally known as Hedgehogs. This section is aimed at 4-6 year olds to have a great introduction to Scouting and start to learn those skills that will be invaluable for many years to come. There are only a limited number of groups that run Hedgehogs, and we are proud of our group being part of this great scheme
We are looking for supporters that are interested in joining our group and specifically the team ‘Squirrels’. You’ll be part of the national plan looking at rolling out Squirrels nationwide.
Each session starts with a big hello, followed by a story based on the theme of the night. We then complete an interesting activity indoors or outdoors, with the opportunity for a group game. Once finished it’s time to say goodbye and receive a sticker award to say well done on learning something new.
We are looking for people that can commit to weekly or 2-weekly sessions, term time only. Squirrels don’t go camping or have sleepovers, but you are welcome to join other sections if you are interested in spending time in the great outdoors.
